2025 Pathway Construction
As part of the Town’s Pathway Master Plan, the Parks & Facilities Department will continue expanding the pathway network.
This year’s pathway project will focus on the development of a new pathway along Lyndon Road. Starting at the lookout above and extending to the golf course.

Fort Macleod Expands Community Pathway Thanks to Local Business Support
The Town of Fort Macleod is making strides toward a healthier, more connected community with the expansion of its pathway system. This project is more than just concrete and gravel, it’s a testament to the power of local collaboration.
Earlier phases included the 1.2 km paved pathway along Water Street (30th Street), completed in 2023, and a 1.3 km section completed in 2024 from the east side of the green (MacKenzie) Bridge to the historic Old Fort site. Together, these sections provide 2.5 km of paved pathways along the south side of the Oldman River.
The newest addition, completed with the generous support of local businesses, extends the pathway from the Lyndon Road lookout to the golf course, adding another 1 km of trail. This section not only connects that area of town back into the community but also demonstrates the impact of collaboration. Contributing their expertise, time, and resources were:
- Hurlburt Rock
- Milestone Excavating
- Westco Construction
- Brown Okamura Surveying
- Mountain View Precast
- Sling Master
- DW Dirt Works
- Lexcon
- Town of Fort Macleod
“This pathway is a community effort in every sense,” said Brent Feyter, Mayor, Town of Fort Macleod. “When local businesses rally together, we create lasting improvements that benefit residents for generations.”
The expanded pathway system strengthens Fort Macleod’s reputation as a community that values connection—between people, between neighborhoods, and with the outdoors.
The project is estimated to be completed by the end of 2025.
