Macleod Landing Subdivision

The Town of Fort Macleod is pleased to announce that our new subdivision, Macleod Landing, is getting close to opening the presale of Commercial, Residential Multi-Unit and Residential lots for phase 1 of the development.

This new subdivision is located on the east side of Fort Macleod, nestled between 27th Street and 8A Avenue. The area will feature a mix of housing types, served by a connective network of parks, trails and open space and complimented by commercial development. Parks, trails, open space and pedestrian accessibility are integral to the enjoyment and quality of life provided in every neighbourhood. The provision of a central park, playground and multi‐use dry storm pond area (with recreation potential) offers residents a pedestrian and recreation destination close to where they live. 

 

The subdivision was named by local resident Mackenzie Hengerer in a contest run in 2022. Macleod Landing was chosen as the top favourite (out of over 30 submissions) by both residents and Town Council.   Mackenzie Hengerer says, "I find we are in an exciting time where people are "landing" new opportunities in our town. Housing, employment, schools, etc." What a fitting name for a new subdivision in our vibrant, growing community full of opportunity.

ANTICIPATED TIMELINE

August 2023 – Tender for underground servicing work being issued to qualified bidders, anticipated September construction start date

September/October 2023? – lot sale prices to go to Council for approval, and a presale date released to the public

Early 2024 – surveying and subdivision finalized

February 2024 – anticipated final design of surface works and shallow utilities completed, prequalification to be issued in March 2024

April 2024 – surface work and shallow utility tender to be issued, anticipated May 2024 construction start date

May 2024 – substantial completion date for underground work

October 2024 – tentative substantial completion for all surface and shallow utility work
