Provincial Historic Area Design Guidelines
Fort Macleod’s historic downtown is one of the community’s greatest assets, recognized for its unique character, architecture, and cultural value. To help preserve and enhance this legacy, the Town has adopted the Provincial Historic Area Design Guidelines.
These guidelines provide practical advice and direction for property and business owners, designers, and developers working within the Provincial Historic Area. They support thoughtful restoration, compatible new development, and the long-term care of our historic buildings, ensuring the area continues to thrive as a vibrant hub for residents, businesses, and visitors.
