Help Shape the Future of the River Valley Wilderness Park
Should We Pave Part of the River Valley Wilderness Park?
Over 400 residents weighed in on the future of the River Valley Wilderness Park, and one of the biggest topics was whether to pave a portion of the existing trail and the parking lot.
Thanks to a generous offer from Scougall Motors, who are celebrating 100 years in business, there’s an opportunity to fund this upgrade. So, we asked: would paving make the park more usable, or take away from its natural feel?
Here's what we heard:
-
Many support paving for better accessibility—for strollers, wheelchairs, seniors, and kids learning to bike.
-
Some prefer to keep the park as natural as possible and worry paving may lead to more traffic and disruption.
-
Others are looking for a balanced approach: thoughtful upgrades that still preserve the quiet, natural space they love.
We've put together a summary of all survey results, including detailed feedback on paving. Click here to read the full results (PDF).
