FIRE BAN

Due to cooler wet weather, the Fire Ban has been lifted and a FIRE RESTRICTION is now in effect for the Town of Fort Macleod with respect to all open fires within its municipal boundaries.

STILL NOT PERMITTED:

  • All active fire/burn permits are cancelled.
  • No new fire permits will be issued.
  • Fireworks and exploding targets are always prohibited.

EXCEPTIONS (PERMITTED):

  • Propane or natural gas appliances (e.g., barbecues, stoves, heaters, portable fire pits) are allowed if CSA-approved or UL-certified.
  • Recreational fires, (approved backyard fire pits and outdoor fireplaces which conform to the Town of Fort Macleod Fire Bylaw 1867, contained within a metal or non-combustible container) are permitted.
  • Please use these appliances responsibly and cautiously. Ensure your BBQ is regularly cleaned to prevent grease buildup. Operate at a safe distance from buildings and flammable materials.

For questions, contact the Town of Fort Macleod at 403-553-4425.
