FIRE BAN
Due to cooler wet weather, the Fire Ban has been lifted and a FIRE RESTRICTION is now in effect for the Town of Fort Macleod with respect to all open fires within its municipal boundaries.
STILL NOT PERMITTED:
- All active fire/burn permits are cancelled.
- No new fire permits will be issued.
- Fireworks and exploding targets are always prohibited.
EXCEPTIONS (PERMITTED):
- Propane or natural gas appliances (e.g., barbecues, stoves, heaters, portable fire pits) are allowed if CSA-approved or UL-certified.
- Recreational fires, (approved backyard fire pits and outdoor fireplaces which conform to the Town of Fort Macleod Fire Bylaw 1867, contained within a metal or non-combustible container) are permitted.
- Please use these appliances responsibly and cautiously. Ensure your BBQ is regularly cleaned to prevent grease buildup. Operate at a safe distance from buildings and flammable materials.
