Fire Ban in Effect July 19, 2024

FIRE ADVISORY
Due to the persistent heat and dry conditions, a FIRE ADVISORY has been issued for the Town of Fort Macleod. A FIRE ADVISORY is issued by the Fire Chief to inform residents about conditions that pose a moderate to high risk to the municipality.
Under the FIRE ADVISORY, all active fire/burn permits are hereby suspended, and no new permits will be issued.
Recreational fires (campfires, approved backyard fire pits, and outdoor fireplaces that conform to the Town of Fort Macleod Fire Bylaw 1867, which are contained within a metal or non-combustible container), propane or natural gas appliances (barbeques, stoves, heaters, and portable fire pits) for heating or cooking are still permitted. We ask that anyone using their firepits or other appliances do so responsibly and with extreme caution during this time.
This fire advisory is in effect as of 11:00 am on Thursday, July 11, 2024, and may be upgraded to a fire restriction or complete ban at any time.
