TOWN OF FORT MACLEOD
PROPERTY CLEANUP INITIATIVE
STARTING MAY 8th
COMPOSTABLES, GARDEN AND LAWN CLEAN UP
The GARDEN & LAWN CLEANUP will start the week of May 25th 2021. The Town will pick up compostable materials only. Leaves, grass & tree trimmings may be put in the alleys beginning May 8th. Please separate branches from grass and leaves. DO NOT PUT GRASS & LEAVES IN BAGS; ANY ITEMS LEFT IN PLASTIC BAGS WILL NOT BE PICKED UP. Town Crews will be starting to clear the alleys on May 25th, 2021; they will be starting on the north end of Town and moving south. Once the Town has gone through each alley they will not return. Anything placed in the alley’s after this time may be subject property unsightly notices.

FREE CYCLE WEEKENDIn an effort to keep as much refuse out of the landfill as possible and to clean up town properties the Town along with the Environment Committee propose the weekend of June 4, 5 & 6 2021, as the FREE RECYCLE WEEKEND!!!
Residents and Businesses that have items they no longer have a need for – but that someone else may be able to use or refurbish, can set the items out on the end of their driveways/front lawns MARKED FREE – from Friday, June 4 to Sunday June 6th 2021 (only). After the specified three days, participants are asked to remove remaining items from their driveways/front lawns, place them back in your garage or home and/or then bring them to the household refuse cleanup. (please note the last day for O’Sullivan’s to accept items at no charge will be June 12th, 3:00 pm.
MAY 27th –29th AND JUNE 10th – 12th 2021
HOUSEHOLD REFUSE CLEAN UP
During this time residential property owners may take their accumulated household refuse to O’Sullivan’s waste disposal area at 144-13th Street free of charge. This campaign is not intended nor does it cover businesses with construction waste, concrete, gravel, dirt, etc. Please recycle your paper and cardboard products at the recycling trailer behind the arena.

All loose materials that can be blown around easily must be bagged! High winds can cause the site to be closed at any time. NO STYROFOAM, this should be disposed of in your regular household garbage. Other Items that will NOT be accepted by O’Sullivans are: Concrete, Gravel & any gravel products, Dirt, Acid Batteries, Paint, Fridges, Deep Freezers, Oil, TV’s, Computers, Computer parts & accessories, Tires, Barbed Wire, Styrofoam OR Toxic Chemicals. NO LIQUIDS OF ANY KIND. Any small engines or engine parts must be drained of all fluids.
Town Council, along with the Fort Macleod Environment Committee, O’Sullivan’s Collection and our Public Works Department are making a concerted effort to make our community a safe and attractive place to live.
