Swimming Pool

Cool off in our swimming pool during the summer months.  Swimming lessons, Aquafit classes, lane swimming, public swimming – there’s a time for each.  Check out our schedules for rates, hours of operations and scheduled swim times. Our arena is in the centre of town adjacent to the swimming pool.  This meeting place sees farmer’s markets and various events in the summer and once winter moves in, curling and skating take over.  Town hockey leagues and figure skating classes keep the area residents entertained, whether they are participating or watching.  If you are in need of a space, check out the rental options under Facility Rentals.

Fort Macleod is nestled into a beautiful prairie landscape.  The Old Man River flows just north of town and gives us a recreational playground in the Wilderness Park.  There you will find native plants and prairie wildlife. Groups often float down the river in canoes, kayaks or inner tubes.  Joggers and cyclists cross the green bridge to get their daily workout on the roads and trails and bird watchers are intrigued by the feathered friends that make their homes in the river bottom trees.  Ball diamonds and youth camps are also found in this area.
