Curbside Garbage & Recycling

The Town of Fort Macleod has partnered with GFL to provide residents with a curbside garbage and recycling program. We are happy to provide weekly garbage pick up and bi-weekly recycling pick up, for the collection schedule please click here.

Pick up dates are scheduled to change around stat holidays, to keep up to date on these changes as well as critical events and day-to-day communications you can download the VOYENT ALERT! App, or register online to receive email, voice or text/based alerts at http://register.voyent-alert.com. Registration is free, simple and anonymous.

Collection Days for Residents

We have two current zones for pick up:

• Zone 1 (North) has collection day Thursdays
• Zone 2 (South) has collection day Fridays

On collection day please have garbage and recycling bins to the collection spot by 7:00 am, you can pick up when emptied or after 7:00 pm that day.

Missed a pickup? Please leave your cart out until 7:00 pm on collection day and then call the Town of Fort Macleod Office at 403-553-4425.

Cart Placements

Carts should be at least 3 feet (1 meter) apart

There should be at least 10 feet (3 meters) above your carts

Please ensure bins are at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from any obstacles on either side (parked cars, power poles, utility boxes.

Cart Care

Residents are responsible for cleaning and storing carts.

If your cart is damaged or missing, call the Town Office at 403-553-4425.

Recycling

While residents have a blue bin for recycling, the Town also has a Bulk Recycling Depot located at 865 30th Street South, Fort Macleod. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Willow Creek Landfill

The Willow Creek Regional Landfill Facility is located at 113053 Range Road 263 – South of Township 114 (NW-22-11-26-W4th)

Monday and Tuesday 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

Wednesday – Closed

Thursday and Friday – 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

Saturday – Open from May – October on the 2nd and 4th day of the month from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

Sunday – Closed
