NOW HIRING - POOL STAFF - ALL LIFEGUARD LEVELS

Head Guards - Lifeguards + Instructors - Lifeguards - Assistant Lifeguards - Shallow Water Attendants - Cashier

 Our newly modernized aquatic centre is currently looking for certified, reliable, and flexible staff to fill all levels of positions required to operate our pool. The Town is pleased to be able to run our pool for the full summer season with an anticipated opening in late May. Some positions will require an early start to prepare for the season. All staff will be required to work a combination of days, evenings, weekends and holidays. An overview of timelines and anticipated schedules will be reviewed during interviews.

Qualifications and Experience

Position Wages:

Head Guards:                         $18.61

Lifeguards+ Instructors:             $17.61

Lifeguards:                                $16.61

Assistant Lifeguards:                 $16.11

Shallow Water Attendants:      $15.61

Cashier                                        $15.61

 The Following are the position descriptions and requirements.

Head Guard – Responsible for handling some required disciplinary actions, providing guidance and instruction to other staff members, assisting the supervisor with minor administration tasks, instructing assigned swimming lessons, supervising the pool, actively engaging with patrons, selling concession items and swim passes, attending in-services, and performing routine cleaning duties.

  • Minimum age 18
  • Hold a current National Lifeguard Award
  • Hold a current Alberta Workplace Approved Standard First Aid certification (Aquatic Emergency Care Award or Standard First Aid)
  • Hold a current Instructor award such as Swim Instructor or Lifesaving Instructor
  • 2 or more years lifeguarding/instructing experience considered to be an asset.
  • Open Availability considered to be an asset with 25-40 hours available per week.

 

Lifeguard + Instructor – Responsible for instructing assigned swimming lessons, supervising the pool, actively engaging with patrons, selling concession items and swim passes, attending in-services, and performing routine cleaning duties.

  • Minimum age 16
  • Full time, part time, and casual positions available
  • Hold a current National Lifeguard Award
  • Hold a current Alberta Workplace Approved Standard First Aid certification (Aquatic Emergency Care Award or Standard First Aid)
  • Hold a current Instructor award such as Swim Instructor or Lifesaving Instructor
  • Open availability considered to be an asset.

 

Lifeguard – Responsible for supervising the pool, actively engaging with patrons, selling concession items and swim passes, attending in-services, and performing routine cleaning duties.

  • Minimum age 16
  • Full time, part time, and casual positions available
  • Hold a current National Lifeguard Award; and
  • Hold a current Alberta Workplace Approved Standard First Aid certification (Aquatic Emergency Care Award or Standard First Aid)
  • Open availability considered to be an asset.

 

Assistant Lifeguard – Responsible for assisting lifeguards to supervise the pool, handle some patron interaction, selling concession items and swim passes, attending in-services, and performing routine cleaning duties.

  • Minimum age 15
  • Hold a current Bronze Cross Award; and
  • Hold a current Alberta Workplace Approved Standard First Aid certification (Aquatic Emergency Care Award or Standard First Aid)
  • Open availability considered to be an asset.

 

Shallow Water Attendant – Responsible for assisting lifeguards to supervise shallow areas and the water slide, selling concession items and swim passes, attending in-services, and performing routine cleaning duties.

  • Minimum age 14
  • Hold a current Shallow Water Attendant Certification Award,
  • Hold a current Aquatic Emergency Care Award or a current Bronze Cross and current Alberta Workplace Approved Emergency First Aid award.
