T. Buckley makes some miles to the Empress
October 26, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
$25
Roots artist T. Buckley is making a stop at the Empress Theatre to play some tunes from his new collection on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.
Buckley, an Alberta-based singer, songwriter and guitarist, is releasing his fifth album in October. Buckley says Miles We Put Behind is a solo project that delivers “timeless, flowing melodies with a little grit on the edge that taps into a pure vein of country soul.”
In addition to his five albums, Buckley has topped radio charts, sold out shows across Western Canada, and held down a successful four-year weekly residency at one of Calgary’s best live music venues.
In the past eight years, Buckley has been the front man for the T. Buckley Trio, the tight-knit unit known for diverse stage sets including solo folk tunes, three-part harmonies, classic country ballads and energetic roots rock.
His new album is a departure from his work with the Trio. In Miles We Put Behind, Buckley invites listeners to “explore human connections through intimate character sketches, love songs and playful storytelling.”
Grammy-winning musician, engineer, and producer Howard Bilerman produced the album. Bilerman is a former drummer for Arcade Fire and has more than 400 production credits, including Leonard Cohen.
Buckley was recently recognized at the Kerrville International Songwriting Contest in Kerrville, Texas and was awarded an Official Showcase at the 2018 South West Regional Folk Alliance in Austin, Texas.
He will be joined on-stage at the Empress with Juno-nominated singer/songwriter Chloe Albert.
Tickets to T. Buckley at the Empress are $25 each and available at MacleodEmpress.com, by calling 403-553-4404 (toll-free at 1-800-540-9229), or at the Box Office on Main Street.
