Spring Breakout Classic Car Show and Swap Meet, 2010
April 17 (3rd Saturday in April)

Spring fever hits Fort Macleod's Historic Main Street with hundreds of antique and classic cars, trucks and bikes lining the streets. Set against the backdrop of Fort Macleod's historic Main Street, this event will definitely help you cool the spring fever. After the car show you can break a fever again dancing to live music at the "Rockin' & Rollin  60's & 70's" dance (being held in the Fort Macleod & District Community Hall). Presented by SADRA.

Cinemagine - Annual French Film Festival

Antique Show and Sale (9th Annual Fort Macled & District Chamber of Commerce)

Check out the finest antiques and collectibles in this annual roadshow. Dealers from across western Canada bring you their very best. Whether your fancy is formal or kitsch, curios or memorabilia, you'll find it here! And if one day isn't enough, there's more to see on Sunday! Pros answer questions and give information on the history and provenance of everything from cups and saucers to jewellery to tools to furniture. Learn refinishing and restoration techniques from the experts, and comb the booths for decorating tips and ideas!

Canada Day
July 1st, 2010 

Canada Day (Dominion Day) in Fort Macleod is colourful!  Join forces with the troops at the Fort Museum and celebrate our country's anniversary. The day begins with a Canada Day ceremony and inaugural Musical Ride.  Take in the musical entertainment, childrens' crafts,  ice cream-making and rug-hooking demonstrations outside, and complete the day with more music entertainment and another chance to hear and see the musical ride. Free admission until noon.


Ranch Rodeo (Monty Wesley Memorial)

Come out for the 6th Annual Fort Macleod Ag. Society's Ranch Rodeo 4:00 p.m at Midnight Stadium.  One thousand ($1,000.) guaranteed prize money.  Come see horse catch, team sorting, calf branding, bull gathering, team doctoring and cow milking.  For entry information call Dave at 403-553-2379

South Country Fair

The South Country Fair is a regional music festival that enjoyed its first year in 1987.  It is a family event, with performers coming to play from places as diverse and far away as Spain, Bulgaria, Brazil and New Zealand.  The South Country Fair has been called "one of the top 5 small festivals in Canada".  Visit www.scfair.ab.ca for further info and schedule.

Heritage Festival and Quilt Show - Fort Museum
August 7 & 8, 2010
The Fort Museum's annual Heritage Festival and Quilt Show includes musical presentations, ice cream-making demonstrations, traditional crafts and trades demonstrated, a pie auction, a country church service, buffalo burgers, fry bread, nickel carnival, children's activities,  and carriage rides.  Last year more than 125 quilts from across the province were on display during the show. The Fort Macleod Quilt Guild will also display quilts from the region and host a traditional quilting bee.  Regular admission rates apply.


Santa Claus Parade
November 27th, 2010
This year marks the 29th Annual Santa Claus Parade, a winter tradition in Fort Macleod. The parade is the largest of its kind in western Canada. Floats galore, marching bands, street entertainers and Santa himself bring in the Christmas Spirit! More than 10,000 people line the streets to welcome Santa and his special guests. The parade opens with the Town Crier in horse and buggy, calling out the news that Santa is on his way! Colour and sound are the order of the day, making the Santa Claus parade an event to remember.  Each years' theme sparks creativity in costumes and floats. And the bands!  Brass bands, pipe bands, marching bands, drum groups!  The Biggest and Best Santa Claus Parade in the West!  Don't miss it!
