Distribution Tariffs

Effective: July 1, 2006

Note: The Terms and Conditions for Consumer Service apply to all Town of Fort Macleod customers and provide for other charges.

Rate 100 - Residential Service

Availability: Rate 100 is available to individually metered single family dwelling units that are used for domestic purposes only.

Rate 100

Application: In addition to single family dwellings, Rate 100 is also available to:

  1. An individually metered single dwelling unit with a maximum of 1,000 watts used in connection with small business;
  2. An individually metered single motel rental unit, provided that the owner has contracted with Fort Macleod service to each unit;
  3. An individually metered private dwelling in a commercial travel trailer or mobile home park, provided that Fort Macleod bills the owner of the park if the occupancy is temporary;
  4. Multi-residential buildings which are served through a single meter and which are currently billed on a residential rate;
  5. Senior citizen apartment complexes served through a single meter; or
  6. Travel trailer or mobile home parks served through a single meter where the owner of the park sub-meters each of the occupants of the park and charges the occupants of the park at rates no higher than Fort Macleod's Rate 100.

In cases 4, 5 and 6 (multi-residential), Fort Macleod bills the customer for the kWh consumed and a revised Basic Monthly Charge of $17.11/month for one unit plus $15.13/month for each additional unit whether or not the units are occupied.

Rate 200 - Small General Service

Availability: Rate 200 is available to Small General Service customers who normally require less than 75 kW and do not qualify for other specific rates.

Rate 200

The kW of Capacity is the greatest of:

  1. the highest Metered Demand in the billing period;
  2. 85% of the highest Metered Demand in the 12 month period including and ending with the billing period, less 50 kW;
  3. the Minimum Demand as determined by application of the Terms and Conditions of Electric Service; or
  4. the Rate Minimum of 2 kW. The Metered Demand is the greater of the registered demand in kilowatts or 90% of the registered demand in kilovolt-amperes.

Billing Period Is Monthly

Rate 400 - General Service

Availability: Rate 400 is available to General Service customers with a normal billing capacity of less than 2,000 kW, who do not qualify for other specific rates.

  1. the highest Metered Demand in the billing period;

Rate ST-500 - Street Lights

Availability: Rate St-500 is available for standard street light and highway lighting fixtures.
